As\nyou probably know, we have tons of different commercial mats<\/a>. But we love our Waterhog mats<\/a>. These are the\nindustry standard for commercial use in areas where the foot traffic is going\nto be really wet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Any\nbusiness in a wet weather area should have these mats at the entrance to their\nbusiness premises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Waterhog\nmats come in nine different colors, trap 1.5 gallons of water per square yard,\nand are all made in the USA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, one question we get a lot is: How do you clean Waterhog Mats?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The simple answer is you clean them a lot like you would other mats, but below is more information on how to properly clean and maintain Waterhog floor mats<\/strong> specifically…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dry Mats<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If the mat is dry, you should first shake it out, then vacuum it with a commercial or industrial vacuum that has much more power than a residential one. (Always close your eyes when you\u2019re shaking out mats, so you don\u2019t get any dirt or dust in your eyes.)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dry\nmats in use should be shaken out and vacuumed at least once a day. If the mats\nare getting really dirty from heavy traffic, then shake them out and vacuum\nthem more than once a day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wet Mats<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Wet\nWaterhog mats, or dry ones that need a more thorough cleaning, should be hosed\noff. Incline the mat slightly, if possible, and use a strong jet (not a power\nwasher) to hose them down from one end to the other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s\nprobably not necessary, but you can also use some shampoo when you\u2019re hosing\nthem down, and you can steam clean them. Then lay them flat to dry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Keep Your Mats\nClean<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Clean\nmats will always perform better than dirty ones. So, make sure to clean your\nmats on a regular basis and have enough mats, so you can switch out dirty ones\nthat need attention with clean ones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mats\nwill take several hours to dry, so you need another mat to take its place while\nthe first mat is drying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mats\nare an easy and inexpensive way to make any space safer. Mats increase traction,\nprevent dirt and water from being tracked through your space, and Waterhog mats\nactually trap water within the mat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
