But it\u2019s not complicated, and we even prepared a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eaglemat.com\/downloads\/dl\/file\/id\/138\/washing_instructions_urinal_toilet_sink_bathoom_mats_restroom_service_mats.pdf\">pdf file<\/a> specifically for\nwashing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eaglemat.com\/bathroom-urinal-mats.html\">urinal mats<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Here\u2019s what you\nneed to know:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>We\ngenerally recommend (unless the manufacturer says something different) a break\ntemperature of 140<sup>o<\/sup>F.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Drying\nis usually not necessary. If the mats have a lot of lint you can put them in\nthe dryer on air (no heat) for a few minutes.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>It\u2019s\na good idea to wear latex gloves when handling soiled bathroom mats to minimize\nany contact with microbes, but there\u2019s no evidence that you are at high risk of\ncatching anything from them. If you\u2019re allergic to latex, then there are lots\nof non-latex gloves available. Furthermore, most of the bathroom mats have\nanti-microbial technology built into them. This not only cuts down on microbes,\nbut also the odor that tends to come with them.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>The\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.osha.gov\/laws-regs\/standardinterpretations\/1992-08-07-1\">OSHA<\/a> doesn\u2019t consider\nhousekeeping or maintenance staff to be particularly at risk from coming in\ncontact with urine, unless the urine is obviously mixed with blood, but further\nsays that the onus is on the employer to determine if an employee is at risk\nwhile doing his or her job.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Wash\nthem frequently as they will get dirty quickly.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Lay\nmats flat to dry.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Be\nsure to have more than one set of mats so that you can immediately put a clean\none down while the dirty ones are being washed or drying.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nfact is that bathrooms tend to get wet floors, whether it\u2019s from sloppy\nbathroom users or leaky plumbing. Wet floors contribute to slip, trip, and fall\naccidents.
