Stair treads are basically divided into three types: vinyl, rubber, and aluminum, and we carry all three<\/a> types.<\/p>\n

This is what adding stair treads does to your stairs.<\/p>\n

  1. They add friction to the step increasing traction.<\/li>\n
  2. They help remove debris and water from a person\u2019s shoes.<\/li>\n
  3. They protect the step from wear.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Vinyl stair treads are the cheapest solution for the budget-conscious individual. They are a good solution for low- or moderate-traffic stairwells.<\/p>\n

    Rubber treads are the next best thing to vinyl. They are more expensive, but they are also longer-wearing, and more eco-friendly.<\/p>\n

    Aluminum treads are typically the most expensive, but they are also the hardest wearing and good for indoor or outdoor. They can be ordered pre-drilled and countersunk for screws. They are a great way to spruce up an outdoor wooden staircase that has seen better days and make it a whole lot safer.<\/p>\n

    Installation Tip<\/strong>: If you have to shorten an aluminum tread, be sure to remove any burrs. Aluminum has a tendency to make little burrs when you cut it.<\/p>\n

    Consider Design<\/strong><\/p>\n

    You can also consider design when choosing stair treads. Our rubber<\/a> ones come in 10 different colors. Pair that with a color-coordinated mat, and you can really make a statement to the public. Why not a logo<\/a> mat?<\/p>\n

    Even the aluminum ones come in three colors. So, remember that making the workplace safer can be a good-looking design choice. Safe does not mean ugly.<\/p>\n

    Stair treads keep the public from tracking water dirt throughout the premises and damaging the floors in other places. The treads are all easy to clean, and the rubber and vinyl ones are a breeze to install with contact cement.<\/p>\n
