In the 2016 report, statistics show that slip-related injuries cost American business owners an estimated $17.92 billion in total costs (i). All estimates in the report are gathered from a combination of authorities, including Liberty Mutual Insurance, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), and the National Academy of Social Insurance.<\/p>\n<p>In the wake of the 2016 report, safety managers must get back to the basics of slip and fall prevention in order to create a healthier and safer workplace in 2017.<\/p>\n<h2>Top 10 Causes of Workplace Injury<\/h2>\n<p>According to the Liberty Mutual Workplace Safety Index, the following categories account for the top 10 causes of non-fatal workplace injury in the United States. Slip-related categories have been highlighted in bold.
