How Much Do Custom Elevator Pads Cost and Why Do I Need Them?

How to Install Elevator Wall StudsCustom Elevator Pads Protect Costly Finishes

You need elevator pads to protect the nice finishes in your elevators. If you don’t protect the finishes, you will spend more money on repairing your elevator—taking it offline in the process—than you would have spent on the custom elevator pads in the first place.

Not only is a damaged elevator wall an eyesore, but sometimes it’s difficult to restore it to the original finish. The custom elevator pads provide a cushion and protective barrier for the walls of the elevator.

Any elevator that carries freight or passengers and freight needs elevator pads. Workers moving furniture or supplies are not always terribly careful as they are putting things into or pulling things out of your elevator.

Furthermore, cargo can be heavy, oddly shaped, and awkward to handle, and it’s easy to accidentally hit the elevator walls. It’s much more cost-effective to put pads in your elevator early on. Install custom elevator pads before you sustain all kinds of interior damage to your elevator.

Why Do I Need Custom Elevator Pads?

You need custom elevator pads because of all the choices.

They have to fit your elevator exactly (measurements). You have to choose how they will attach to the elevator (hardware). You have to choose the material they are made from (materials), and you have to choose colors.

How Do I Measure for Them?

It’s not difficult to measure for them. We have a special page designed to help you make the measurements. Just scroll down for the worksheet.

How Much Do They Cost?

The cost will vary depending on the size and shape of your elevators. Figure that they will start at about $200 per elevator.

Do Custom Elevator Pads Come in Different Colors?

Absolutely. They not only come in different colors, they come in different materials too. Eagle Mat carries a Standard Vinyl, a Rugged Canvas, and a Heavy-Duty Vinyl.

Are They Hard to Install?

Definitely not. We have three different installation methods with corresponding hardware. You can use Adapt-a-Clamps, Studs, or Hooks.

Can Custom Elevator Pads Be Cleaned?

Yes, they can. Our vinyl pads can be cleaned with a damp cloth. The canvas ones probably need to be dry-cleaned to maintain their flame retardant qualities. Check with us when you’re ready to order.
